Encounter with myths:
I was born in 1988 in Ostrava, Czech Republic. For the first six years of my training I was following the widespread bodybuilding routines and diets. As a not much genetically gifted boy I must always work twice as hard to have the same results as my friends. That motivates me and also forced me to try to find some advanced information that would gave me an advantage over them. So instead of evenings spent by doing the homeworks or watching the films I was spending them by reading every possible information about training and nutrition, which were back then available in Czech language.
I had some progress, no doubt about it, but not as much as I sacrificed for it. And when I was getting older I hit the plateau and was trapped in the depths of stagnation. With the feeling that I was not improving, came thoughts that I wasn't doing enough. So I started to train and eat as if it was my professional job. And you know what?
Nothing happened! Not only that I did not improve I got even worse!
By the strict feeding myself every 2-3 hours, by the effort to ingest 30 grams of lean protein six to eight times a day and by the diet based on chicken breasts, rice, oats, eggs and cottage, the only results regardless wasted time and money were the development of several food intolerances (yeah you can get intolerance on almost everything), autoimmune disease and gaining fat.
And by my balls to wall bodybuilding training routine (which caused only chronic elevation of cortisol) with the combination of excessive amounts of consumed protein I achieved almost toxic environment for my liver and kidney, which led to development of overtraining syndrome (not the usual overtraining but the actual clinical syndrome) with the continuation to the burnout syndrome.
And that, my friends, really wasn't worth it.
Why I was in that bad condition despite of following general rules of training and nutrition? Because they are myths!
In the deep abyss of overtraining and autoimmune disease I started to use again the most powerful ability of mankind: The knowledge.
Shelter of wisdom:
I began to seek alternative methods of training and dieting. Ones that are proven by science not by the authority. That was a time when I met a strength training and the thoughts of all the great coaches, who in that time already knew that the real training for results must looks different (glory to Ch. Poliquin and P. Tsatsouline who spoke loud as first). That was also a time when I got my personal trainer accreditation and began my study of psychology at the Masaryk's University.
You might think what have strength training and psychology in common and why I didn't study exercise or nutrition science. Well, at least in the Czech Republic, knowledge taught about exercise and nutrition on universities were 20 years behind the current scientific knowledge and I didn't need or wanted a degree from myths. In addition, my passion has always been not only physical but also psychical improvement, including knowledge about how your mind can influence your body.
The study of psychology gave me a lot: from the ability to read and critically evaluate scientific researches, over understanding of neuronal and endocrine mechanisms of our bodies and how they affect our body development and on the other side how are they influenced by our training and nutrition, to ability to reproduce people my thoughts and knowledge through the way that they understand.
Paving the path.
Hand to hand with studying the psychology I was also applying learned knowledge about strength training on myself and my clients and after months of testing I created foundations of Rise by Performance Training system that I named like this a much later.
We are talking here about end of 2010 and first months of 2011 and it took another two years until the RPT system was ready to publish.
In the February 2013 I launched the RPT project to general public in the Czech Republic and Slovakia and month later I decided to create my own training facility where will not any limitations for strength training exist.
And thus been done with two friends of mine in September 2013 when I also launched the second phase of the RPT project (www.performancetraining.cz).
Next year I finished my studies and obtained a Master's degree in Psychology (clinical orientation). My master thesis was about psychological effects of intermittent fasting and in short it has proven the benefits of this diet in the controlled natural experiment.
During the two years existence of the RPT project the numbers of my clients increased to thousands and RPT became well known through our countries.
In the October 2014 after the whole year of planning I started the third phase of the RPT project. This time with the intention to expand my training system internationally.
Only time will tell If I succeed or not. But for now I feel that I accomplished another important part of my life. And once again I RISE ABOVE MY LIMITS.
